1. Azzurra Massidda DVM MRCVS DipECVO RCVS and EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology

Ophthalmology Clinician

Azzurra will kick off the evening by talking about keratoconjunctivitis sicca (aka ‘dry eye’), a common condition that is chronic and potentially uncomfortable. She will discuss aetiology and treatment, and how this condition can best be managed long term.

2. John Burgess BVSc MRCVS

ECVO Residency-trained Ophthalmology Clinician

John will discuss some of the medications available for the veterinary market. He’ll discuss which of these best serve our patients, how best to use them, what contraindications we need to know, and why certain formulations may work better than others for certain conditions.

3. Guido Cardone DVM MRCVS

Ophthalmology Intern

Spontaneous Chronic Corneal Epithelial Defects – more commonly known as ‘non-healing ulcers’ – are chronic ulcers that fail to resolve through normal wound‐healing processes. Guido will run through the aetiology, symptoms and up-to-date treatment options.

4. Heidi Featherstone BVetMed DVOphthal DipECVO MRCVS RCVS and EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology

Head of Ophthalmology

Heidi will finish off the session by sharing ‘Top 10 Tips’ for eye patients.
