We are delighted to introduce you to Annelies, our new Internal Medicine Diplomate! Annelies joins our busy Internal Medicine Service as we continue to strive towards increasing our abilities to meet the needs of our referring community and deliver the care our patients need.

Let’s meet Annelies…

Annelies graduated from Ghent University, Belgium in 2010. After graduating she then completed a rotating internship at the same university.

Annelies spent a year in the Emergency & Critical Care Service at Alfort Veterinary School, France, before completing a three-year residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at Ghent University. After which she joined the University of Edinburgh in 2016 as a senior clinician in Internal Medicine and Emergency & Critical Care, working there for two and a half years. Annelies became a Diplomate in 2017.

Before joining The Ralph in November 2020, Annelies worked at the University of Ghent as a senior clinician in Internal Medicine. She is very passionate about all aspects of internal medicine, but particularly enjoys endocrinology, uronephrology, critical care and endoscopy.

In her free time Annelies enjoys yoga, hiking, travelling and skiing. She also has a lovely ginger cat named Duffy who loves his cuddles!
