Miguel graduated from the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 2007. After a year working in an emergency referral centre in Barcelona, he moved to the UK in July 2008 where he undertook a surgical internship, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of small animal orthopaedic and neurosurgery. Following his interest in small animal surgery, he moved to Cambridge to take up the one year junior training scholarship at the University of Cambridge.
Miguel completed a three year European College of Veterinary Surgeons approved residency program in small animal surgery and became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in February 2015. Before joining The Ralph, Miguel worked as a senior orthopaedic clinician at a referral hospital in Surrey combining a very busy caseload with clinical research. Miguel has published in international journals with particular interest on cranial cruciate ligament and medial coronoid disease. He lectures regularly and participates as a reviewer for veterinary journals.
In his personal life, Miguel loves travelling and a good paella by the beach with his friends. He has recently discovered how addictive climbing can be. Miguel is known to always be ready for a fancy dress party.0
