Senior ECC Clinician Maternity Cover

The Ralph is the UK’s largest independent (non-corporate) multidisciplinary specialist referral centre in southeast England, with around 260 team members. We are looking for an Emergency and Critical Care Specialist to join our friendly and collaborative team on a maternity cover contract starting in October or November 2026. The initial contract is for six months and is part-time. We would prefer a Diplomate, but we also welcome applications from Post-Residency colleagues.

This maternity cover role will help our Emergency and Critical Care team continue to provide care around the clock, every day of the year. The team will include four ACVECC and/or ECVECC Diplomates, two ECVECC residents, several ECC Out-of-Hours Staff Clinicians and Vet interns, and a large group of ECC nurses. The team works in our separate, adjoining Dog and Cat ICUs.

Our ECC Service is well established and is one of the busiest in the country. We care for many critically ill and high-dependency patients. If you have a strong interest or experience in mechanical ventilation, look no further! We offer all the advanced facilities you would expect in a dedicated referral ICU.

Our ECC service works closely with Diplomates in all our disciplines, including Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Cardiology, Dentistry, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery. You will also work with our excellent Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation team, which is committed to providing services to ICU patients.

Marlow is only 25 minutes from Heathrow Airport, 45 minutes from Luton Airport, and about an hour from Gatwick or Stansted Airport.

ECC Diplomate (or Post-Residency)
MRCVS
English-speaking (native, professional, bilingual)
