After Tom left school he went on to an apprenticeship in carpentry for his NVQ, but due to being made redundant due to the recession, he wasn’t able to complete it.
He then spent the rest of his years working in freight forwarding in various roles, then on to fuelling and pipeline work. Again due to COVID, Tom found out he was made redundant for the second time in his work life. He is always keen to learn and this gave him the opportunity to pick his tools up again and start with our maintenance team in March 2021.
Being an animal lover himself, this has helped combine work with his love and caring for animals. In his spare time Tom enjoys fly fishing and cooking.
At home, he lives with his wife their two children and their black and white cat, Otis.
