Marisa Du Preez

MCSP ACPAT Cat A

Physiotherapist

Marisa is a chartered physiotherapist, originally from South Africa, who has since moved to the UK, after a devoted journey to practice veterinary physiotherapy.

Marisa completed an undergraduate degree (in South Africa) in human physiotherapy which included various disciplines such as neuromuscular-skeletal, orthopaedics, neurology, respiratory and critical care units over a period of roughly 5 years, including inpatient and outpatient settings.

In the later years of this, Marisa pursued her love and passion to work with animals by completing a postgraduate diploma in veterinary physiotherapy in Liverpool and graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2023.

Marisa has since worked in small animal practices both in North Scotland and South Wales, both largely focused on orthopaedic and neurological cases. Drawing on this background, Marisa has developed a broad understanding and skillset in managing and treating various cases ranging from mild to severe, with a hands-on approach with the aid of electro and other complementary therapies/modalities.

As Marisa takes on this new opportunity with The Ralph, she hopes to employ her skills and experience throughout all areas of the hospital while continuously advocating for the overall well-being and care of our animal clientele in their rehabilitation journeys’ while at The Ralph (and beyond).
