Leila Dixon
RVN Nurse Intern
Leila started her Veterinary career in 2016 as a Patient Care Assistant/Student Veterinary Nurse at a first opinion practice. In 2018 (after a short break from nursing and a move to a different practice), she picked her studies back up and became a qualified RVN in May 2021.
During this time Leila realised she enjoyed the adrenaline rush from an emergency and caring for critical patients so undertook the Certificate in Veterinary Nursing in Emergency & Critical Care and gained this qualification in May 2023.
As well as her interest in Emergency & Critical Care, Leila has a passion for feline friendly nursing and was a ‘Catvocate’ at her previous practice. She hopes to explore this in more depth during her time at The Ralph.
It has been Leila’s goal for a while to work in a referral practice and she is excited to be carrying out the Rotating Nurse Internship to see what other areas of nursing she is interested in.
Outside of work, Leila enjoys cuddles with her two rescue cats (Peaches and Roo), swimming, spending time with family and duvet days!
