Nurse and PCA Training Coordinator Lead
Julia started her career with animals as a kennel assistant for the National Animal Welfare Trust in 1999. In 2001 she decided she wanted to become a veterinary nurse, and qualified in 2004. After a year out travelling around the world in 2005, she worked at a busy veterinary hospital in North London as the Deputy Head Nurse, gaining the A1 certificate in Assessing.
In 2008, Julia moved into nurse training and joined the Goddard Veterinary Group Training Department, where she worked for 11 years. In this time, she achieved the V1 Certificate as an Internal Verifier, the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (DTLLS) and became the Lead Internal Verifier for the Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and for the Veterinary Care Assistant course for the Goddard Veterinary Nursing College.
Julia is also a trained OSCE examiner for the veterinary nursing practical exams, and she sits on the RCVS Veterinary Nursing Education Committee.
Julia joined The Ralph in October 2019 as Nurse Training Coordinator which involves developing and facilitating nurse training, as the team has expanded Julia has now become the Nurse and PCA Training Coordinator Lead.
In her spare time, Julia loves to travel, experience different cultures and see the natural wonders of the world. When at home, Julia enjoys cooking, doing yoga and spending time with her family and friends. Julia shares her home with her daughter Summer, and rescue cat Bluey.
