Denise Tonry
Senior Anaesthesia Nurse and Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anaesthesia & Analgesia
Denise is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who trained at the University College of Dublin in Ireland and moved to the UK in 2014 to challenge herself professionally. She dove straight into referral nursing spending seven years in an orthopaedic and neurology referral hospital in Surrey before joining The Ralph as a Senior Anaesthesia Nurse in 2021. This move presents a new challenge for Denise, where she can meet new people, care for animals in an excellent and compassionate environment and continue to learn as a Veterinary Nurse.
Denise gained further qualifications in Emergency and Critical Care and Anaesthesia between 2015-2018. After three years of living and breathing all things anaesthesia, in late 2021, Denise successfully passed the exam to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia (VTS (Anaesthesia & Analgesia)). Denise is one of very few nurses in the UK to hold this level of qualification.
Denise recently moved to Marlow with her partner Miguel. She has a rescue dog, called Daphne, in Ireland, who remained at home as a family pet. She loves travelling home to visit her family and doggy. Denise does Spanish classes weekly (she’s still not fluent!) and hopes to get out on the Marlow waters soon, she has spotted the local open water swimming spot.
